“And she made this vow: ‘O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.’”

Something to think about
The Bible shares with us the great problem in Hannah’s life: she could not have children. A situation in itself very frustrating for any woman who wants to be a mother. In addition, in Hannah’s time and culture being barren was synonymous with bitterness, since the children carried the family name and kept it from being forgotten. Therefore, barennes was considered a source of great dishonor and shame.
In one of her annual visits to Shiloh, where the tabernacle of God was, while everyone was eating, Hannah went to the house of God where the prophet Eli was. She went there to pray, but understood that to move God’s hand her prayer should be accompanied by an offering. At that moment it was revealed to her that she had to give God what she loved most. The greatest desire of her heart was to have a son and it was quite sacrificial to give God what she had prayed for so long. However, when she understood that this type of offering pleased the Lord and would also change her future, Hannah was no longer just interested in what she could receive from God, but what she could give Him. So she joined the offering to her prayer and promised that if she had a son, she would give him to God again to serve Him all his life.

1. THERE IS POWER IN GIVING OUR BEST
What Hannah did teaches us a great lesson. After living many years of barrenness, her conviction in the power to give the best was demonstrated when she told God that if she had that longed-for child, she would hand him over to His service. She understood that this offering would indeed change her future.
God always hopes to be the only One to occupy the first place in our hearts. Therefore, giving must be an act of our own will and a way of expressing our appreciation and honor to the person to whom we give. An excellent offering usually has a high cost and is the message of love with which we combine our spiritual, emotional and physical areas in a single gift.

2. MY OFFERING MOVES THE HAND OF GOD
Hannah’s prayer is recorded In 1 Samuel chapter two, and as we read it, we get to know the heart of someone who knows how to give. From beginning to end her prayer touched the heart of the Lord! What was the result? A son grounded in the fear of God, who grew in grace and favor, firm in his faith and principles, a faithful messenger of the voice of God, a prophet for the people of his time.

The offering that we give is the key that allows our prayer to be heard in the heavens and becomes the argument in our favor. Desire to give as Hannah did! That your offering would be more than a protocol in the meeting, but would be a great display of your trust in God.

3. BENEFITS OF GIVING
The act of giving is so important to God that we see it in John 3:16 where it teaches that He loved us in such a way that He gave His only Son. Through Jesus, God unleashed incomparable benefits for all of us. It was the Lord Jesus Himself who became an offering, one that brought salvation, forgiveness of sins and an abundant and purposeful life. Therefore, a powerful way to honor God is through our tithes and offerings:
Tithing is a necessary principle for our spiritual, emotional and financial development.
We need to tithe to enter into the cycle of financial freedom that God predestined for us.
Setting apart 10% of our earnings for God as an act of obedience, not only promotes the expansion of the kingdom of God through the ministries, but it also allows us to enjoy the blessings established in His Word.

God will show us His faithfulness, He will open the floodgates of heaven to pour out blessing until it overflows. In other words, He will do more than what we can imagine, and He will rebuke all spirit of ruin from our family.

Prayer
Before praying, have everyone meditate on the following verses: Matthew 6:33, Mark 12:30, Philippians 4:19, Malachi 3:10-12, and Proverbs 3:9-10. Discuss what are the commands in each verse and the promises we obtain when we obey them. You can use different Bible versions to better understand the message.
Take some time to repent as a team if anyone has stopped trusting God as their source of provision, or has stopped giving their offering and tithe. Guide them to verbally recognize Jesus as their only source of blessing. Determine that giving will be lifestyle.
Motivate them to give an offering with a special purpose, knowing that God will move His hand with miracles and specific answers in the area of their life they need. (Remember the five priorities: spiritual, personal, family, ministry, secular.)
